Holly Trumble | Reception

Holly is our part time receptionist, and she loves dogs! She has been married for 38 years to a very tolerant non-dog husband, who has allowed her to show her Portuguese Water Dogs and have 3 litters of puppies. She and her dogs are now taking Rally Classes and working on Water Titles. For the last 15 years she has been teaching rubber stamping as a Stampin’Up! Demonstrator, and she makes beautiful Thank You and Sympathy cards for us here at Dogs’ Own. She loves working at Dogs’ Own, and can’t think of anything better than kissing dogs all day long! Her favorite thing is seeing dirty, matted messy dogs walk in and beautiful, clean, fuzzy decked out dogs leave the salon. Having the groomers groom her dogs is the most wonderful perk, whether for show or just a fun gorilla cut!

Alyson Brown | Operations Manager

Despite being native to Missouri, Alyson had the privilege of spending her younger years growing up in Steamboat Spring, Colorado. The opportunities that came with living in the country molded her into the animal fanatic she is today. Her family was heavily involved in mustang rescue. No matter how deeply immersed in horses her family was, it was clear from a young age that she was more of a dog person at heart.

When she was nine years old, Alyson began competition dog sled racing. Character building years training and caring for a pack of Siberian Huskies eventually led her to competition race wins and gained her a decent amount of knowledge in dog conditioning! Many years later, her family relocated to Grand Lake, Colorado. Alyson bought my first show Siberian when she was nineteen while attending school at The Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology. Though she never won a single ribbon, from that point on she knew she had been bitten by the dog show bug. She is now proudly owned by two Silken Windhounds and has a fairly active dog-show lifestyle. She spends a good deal of time lure coursing and participating in whatever dog activity she can get into!

Her additional passions include studying canine nutrition and conditioning, and genetics. She is always excited to share any and all of the knowledge she has!

Gracie | Groomer

Animals have been an integral part of Gracie’s life since day one. Companionship, support, and purpose were just a few rolls that they fulfilled in her formative years. As her life continued she knew that they would become purposeful in her professional career as well. She began working in a veterinary hospital and doggie daycare at the age of fourteen. While in college for early childhood education she continued volunteering in shelters and fostering dogs and cats. Any animal in need was an animal that could find a safe place to land with her! After 8 years of professional pet care, Gracie chose to dive deeper into her career with animals by attending Tarheel K9 in Sanford, NC. She trained under Jerry Bradshaw to become a certified pet obedience instructor. After moving back to Denver, CO she continued working in the veterinary and private pet care field until she realized her passion for pet grooming. After searching for top grooming schools in the country she found Dogs’ Own. She trained under Jennie Smith and graduated from Dogs’ Own Grooming School in July of 2020. With 15 years of professional animal experience under her belt, she was ecstatic to accept a full time grooming position in March of 2021. She continues to foster animals and spends her free time cooking or camping in the mountains with her 3 best friends; Swarley, Opie, and Guac.
