Alyson Brown | Operations Manager
Despite being native to Missouri, Alyson had the privilege of spending her younger years growing up in Steamboat Spring, Colorado. The opportunities that came with living in the country molded her into the animal fanatic she is today. Her family was heavily involved in mustang rescue. No matter how deeply immersed in horses her family was, it was clear from a young age that she was more of a dog person at heart.
When she was nine years old, Alyson began competition dog sled racing. Character building years training and caring for a pack of Siberian Huskies eventually led her to competition race wins and gained her a decent amount of knowledge in dog conditioning! Many years later, her family relocated to Grand Lake, Colorado. Alyson bought my first show Siberian when she was nineteen while attending school at The Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology. Though she never won a single ribbon, from that point on she knew she had been bitten by the dog show bug. She is now proudly owned by two Silken Windhounds and has a fairly active dog-show lifestyle. She spends a good deal of time lure coursing and participating in whatever dog activity she can get into!
Her additional passions include studying canine nutrition and conditioning, and genetics. She is always excited to share any and all of the knowledge she has!

Mikayla Svobodny | Groomer
Although former chef, Mikayla has been an animal lover her whole life. Now, sheis pursuing something that makes her truly happy. When she was little, Mikayla lived in the mountains on a 10 acre piece of land, filled with animals! Her family pets ranged from small animals like iguanas, all the way to horses. She started volunteering at animal shelters and pet stores, or anywhere that pet professionals could put her to work and let her pet the dogs! She posted flyers for dog walking and pet sitting in her neighborhood and even worked at an alpaca farm! Needless to say, she fell in love with pet-centric work. The first thing she ever said she wanted to be when she grew up was a veterinarian. Although that dream didn’t come true, she is much happier working here at Dogs’ Own. Mikayla spends her days singing and dancing with our four-legged clients! After work, she enjoys doing life with my best friend, Wendall – her baby beagle mix!

Cameron McClelland | Bather
Growing up, I have always had a passion for animals. At age 11, I aspired to become a Veterinarian so I started volunteering at Family Member Animal Hospital. Eventually, I got hired as a Vet Assistant where I worked until the clinic closed. Although my aspirations changed, my love for animals only grew. So, when I had the chance to become a bather, I jumped at the opportunity. I greatly enjoy spending my days making animals feel happy and healthy. Outside of work, I love climbing mountains, playing sports, and hanging out with my three cats; Odin, Ned, and Earl.
